This refers to the refresh rate of the television. The higher the Hz on the refresh rate the more times per second the picture refreshes. When a television has scenes with a lot of motion the picture can be blurry. A higher refresh rate can compensate for this. Picture blur is more a problem with LCD/LED technology than plasma technology. Plasma flatscreen televisions can have more than a 600 HZ sub field drive. The higher the refresh rate the better the flatscreen TV will perform with motion scenes.
